Tulip 'Violetta'

Tulip 'Violetta' is a dainty little gem, a botanical wonder in a very pretty pink. Species tulips are becoming ever more popular among growers and collectors, and this one is a lovely new addition. Like other botanical tulips, 'Violetta' is diminutive and early flowering, bringing a burst of ground colour as winter grey fades away and that craving for spring starts to take hold. Its rose-pink petals are delicately infused with subtle tints of green and orange, opening up in the sunshine to reveal gorgeous inky-purple centres and striking black stamens.  

Tulip 'Violetta' would make a lovely grouping with other botanical tulips in fresh colours, so you could have a collection of these beauties in pots on a table, or perhaps in a dedicated spring border with other small spring gems like scilla, chinodoxa or anemones. Just give them a light, free-draining soil and a sunny spot, and the chances are that these reliable 'Violetta' tulips will naturalise and return to charm you in years to come.
