Pennisetum orientale 'Flamingo' can tolerate winter temperatures down to around -5°C and prefers a free-draining soil. In a suitable location, this perennial grass will grow back every year and all it requires is to be cut back in autumn. As the flowers age later in summer, the adopt a pleasing pale golden hue. This pink fountain grass combines really will with herbaceous perennials like Rudbeckia, Ecinacea, Dierama or Sedum as well as other grasses like Stipa gigantea.
